Westlake was well represented at the MathCounts Invitational competition on February 25th at 5pm.

7th grader Eric Bliss qualified for the MathCounts Chapter Invitational Competition while particpating in the Chapter Competition in early February.  Eric was ranked # 12 within the Chapter, and was the only student from Westlake who advanced.

According to Mrs. Flowers, the MathCounts Club sponsor, the top five students from each Chapter plus the top 10 students statewide will advance to the State Competition.   Eric qualified for the State Competition last year, but it was cancelled due to the pandemic.

In addition to Eric, eight other Westlake student participated in the Invitational.  Jordan Gart was just below the line of those going further in the competition series, followed by Lauren Chen and Vance Hummel, according to Mrs. Flowers.
