Stop Vaping

These are a few reasons why I think vaping is wrong. For all of the people who are thinking about vaping, this is why you should not.

Firstly, vaping is bad for your health and can cause damage to your organs and your heart. It can cause you to have heart diseases and lung diseases. Vaping also has vitamin E in it, which can be hard for your lungs to clean out. This information is from “5 Vaping Facts You Need To Know,” an article posted on the Johns Hopkins website.

Vaping is also highly addictive to people who start doing it, a lot the way smoking is addictive. For people who want to stop smoking, vaping does not help because vaping actually has double the amount of nicotine compared to cigarettes. According to John Hopkins medicine, “If you have thought about trying to kick a smoking habit, you’re not alone. Nearly 7 of 10 smokers say they want to stop.” It also says “Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health.” Since vaping has double the nicotine, it’s even worse for you than smoking.

Recently, vaping has been drawing the attention of young teenagers who are now exposed to a health hazard. These teenagers can or are addicted because they think that vaping is better than smoking, but it’s not. Another reason they are drawn to vaping is the lower price compared to cigarettes overall. Lastly, teenagers can get addicted to the flavors such as watermelon.

If you don’t believe me, you should listen to another Westlake expert, 6th grader Audrey Rosen, who went to a meeting with the Governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, to discuss the issue of vaping and how easy it is to get access to vaping pens and e-cigarettes. Audrey says she learned that, “Vaping itself can cause you very big lung damage that leads to cancer and even worse cases can lead to death.” She also talked about how “Vaping also can come in different flavored nicotine. Nicotine is addictive already but when you have flavor it becomes even more addictive.”
Audrey remembers an early experience with vaping. “I learned about vaping one day in 4th grade. I was walking to the bus and saw a vaping pod on the ground. I didn’t know what it was at first, so I did some research. I learned everything I know now.”
