Ideal Critters of Westlake Students

What animals do you think students at Westlake like the most? There are so many different types of animals in the world – elephants, turtles, monkeys and more. The Westlake Observer surveyed students to see what animal they like the most.  We had 74 students answer our survey – almost half of the students were 7th grade, and then a quarter 8th and a quarter 6th.

The answers have been sorted into five groups of animals: mammals, fish, birds, amphibians, and reptiles. There were two students that said that they didn’t have a favorite animal and there was one student that said they liked every animal.

For each category, we counted the person that said every animal as their favorite.

Out of the 74 students, around 60 people responded with some sort of a mammal. Some animals that were said as responses  were dogs, cats, elephants, and lions. After that there were four students who said a fish/a sea creature. In addition, there were five people who replied saying a bird. Lastly, there were five people who said a reptile was their favorite animal. There were no people who said an amphibian.

Westlake students were asked what’s their favorite animal.
